York
York is a magical place to visit during the festive period.
From the top rated York Christmas Markets to keeping warm in a cosy pub, York is definitely one of our favourites this time of year. With so much to offer and see, it's a city you will not want to leave in a hurry.
You can explore the historic York Minister, and make sure you head to the Shambles Alley while you're there (especially if you're a Harry Potter fan) .
York campsites:
- York Rowntree Park Club Campsite
- York Naburn Lock Caravan Park
The Cotswolds
The Cotswolds is the perfect destination to visit this winter.
With charming villages and picturesque scenery, if you're looking to get into the Christmas spirit, The Cotswolds is definitely the place. Bourton-on-the-Water is our top recommendation to visit while you're there, although a small village, it's arguably the most beautiful at this time a year and the light display is a must-see.
The Cotswolds campsites:
- Briarfields Motel and Touring Caravan Park
- Cotswolds Camping at Holycombe
The Lake District
Do you love The Lake District but aren't a fan of the crowds? Well, December is the perfect time to visit for a weekend away as the villages have quietened down, but the cosy country pubs are still open for a mulled wine or a beer. If you've visited the Lake District before, you'll know that the scenery is beautiful, and at this time of year, its even more enchanting.
In our opinion, there's not many things that will compete with a snowy hike through Dodd Wood or a coffee by Lake Windermere on a crisp morning.

- Keswick - Camping and Caravanning Club Site
- Bowness on Windermere - Camping and Caravanning Club Site
